Patients are often surprised to hear perfect breast symmetry is a myth.

This often begins with asymmetry of the upper torso which can have profound effects on the breast itself.

The footprint of each breast is usually subtly different on each side. However, the aim of breast surgery, whether a breast augmentation, breast lift, or breast reduction, is always to leave patients as symmetrical as possible, and certainly within the normal limits of variation.

This may require a fundamentally different and bespoke surgical plan for each breast, to create the optimal result and leave a patient feeling truly satisfied.
